Parts & Service
Welcome to the new chapter of the R/C Jet World. Right now is the best time to buy R/C jets for many reasons. There are several brands out there for scale and sport jets. The average price has fallen drastically since the early era of R/C Jets in the early 2000s. There are many jet factories out there to compete for your business. The brands can be confusing. The quality can be quite different from one brand to the other. Even in the same brands, the kit's construction methods and quality can varies greatly, depending on the designs, fabrication methods, and material used in the built.
Among all of the brands out there, we currently offer these brands to our members
1. Global Jet ARF Pro - Upgraded from basic kits and also original kits development by our own design team, such as the 1/5 L39X, MIG15, F4D Skyray. They offer the best of every brand and are the joint effort of our members and designers. Highly pre-fabricated, highly scaled details, custom-painted schemes, quality parts from major brands such as Robart parts, Airpower sequencers, and JL landing gear struts. This brand is a continuous effort to offer our members the best quality ARF jets that money can buy
2. Feibao Jet - Known for it's successful sports jet - Velox XL, Velox, and it's highly pre-installed options on all ARF. All planes are offered in painted-outside the molds, pre-installed L/G doors, scale cockpits.Since the introduction of Global Jet Club in 2009 the quality that we offer our members has improved drastically. Many of FB planes have been upgraded to meet our demanding members at the same and affordable price.
3. Jet Legend - Known for detailed scale details on the Landing Gears, all metal, and ball bearing control mechanism. The basic ARF from Jet Legends are mostly painted in the mold (Gel Coat) paint schemes. They offer economical and reliable airplanes.
4. Jet Hangar - Known for smaller (8-15 lbs) high performance composite EDF/turbine capable jets, such as the 1/9 F86 Sabres, A7, F4D Skyray ,etc.
5. Der Jet - A new contender featuring the award winning Der Jet Cougar F9F and new Vampire jets. Both come with highly scaled details such as rivets, panel lines, operating canopy, tail hooks, painted outside the molds.
Since there are so many brands available out there, it's confusing for members to pick and choose the right ones. We are here to help. Please see chart below for the comparison of brands. Each brand is competing for your business therefore improving quality, flight performance, and cost in order to win your business. We objectively list them in term of fabrication quality, prices, after sales services, etc. By purchasing these planes through Global Jet Club, you will receive consistent and high quality after sales services from us. We take the worries out of dealing with each individual aircraft company, sending T/T oversea, tracking orders etc. To Get a Quote, Order, Technical Questions, Returns, Etc.. email info@globaljetclub.com
Description of Evaluation terms:
Airframe fabrication techniques: This describes the type of construction of fuselages, wings and control surface. Most of them are composite fuselage made of fiberglass, carbon fiber reinforcement/Kevlar reinforcement. Some better quality airframe are done in vacuum, normally called "total area vacuum" technique. The vacuum forming is mostly done on the wing sections where fiberglass, wood or foam, are sandwiched and vacuum bagged and cured overtime. Bulkheads are mostly made of woods. The grade of bulkhead can vary from one brand to the order. The top choice are composite bulkheads made of vacuum bagged sandwiched construction of wood/carbon fiber/ or PCB boards. However their cost is higher too.
Standard Painting Techniques: There are 2 major painting techniques in the composite ARF airframe. Since there are no built-up structures, the traditional heat shrink plastic film covering such as Monokote(r) is not necessary. The popular ones are "Gel Coat Painted inside the mold" and Externally painted "Painted outside of the molds."
"Gel Coat painted inside the molds" are commonly used in composite gliders or sport jets. The paints were sprayed in the aircraft molds in a reversed (mirror image) pattern before fiberglass and resin were applied to the molds. Once cured, the parts are pulled from the molds and the paint was attached on the parts forming a gel-coat like, glossy finish. It's light weight and glossy. However it has it's disadvantages in the scale jets which require matt (flat) finish military camouflage. The most noticeable signature of this painting technique is the visible seam lines (joint-lines) at the center section of fuselages or the leading and trailing edges of the molds. The molds also need to be prepared carefully or bubbles, chips, and flat spots can form in the paint finish.
Landing Gear Systems: Standard landing gear systems offered by most brands have relatively complete packages that's adequate to complete the build projects. Retracts, scale struts, wheels, brakes, air tanks, 2-way mechanical valve for retract, 1 way mechanical valves are included in the complete package. However, the extra air cylinders, hinges, 2-way valves for gear doors actuation are not included. They are optional and normally offered in the ARF PRO Everything installed Packages.
Hardware Packages: This package refers to the accessories, parts such as screws, 3-way valves, fuel valves, fuel tank clunks, stoppers, control horns, clevis. We believe that a jack of all trade is the master of none. Many brands are trying to do everything themselves and result in different quality of parts manufactured. Each one has pros and cons. Because we have several brands of jets and parts suppliers, we can choose the most reliable and high quality parts at member's request and custom-pack the optimal hardware packages for our members.
Standard Design features: This section describes the basic design techniques used in each brand. Sometimes different design features were used in different aircraft in the same brands. These will be addressed in each plane.
Special Design features - some are unique in this particular brand. However, due to competition, each brand quickly adopts other brand's special design features in their new brands.
